I am having a rough week.
I am not a person that complains about anything. I tip 20% even if the food sucks and the service was subpar, because maybe they are having an off night. I am the kind of person that lets people merge even if i am late. last year at work (managed a supermarket) i was having panic attacks because of my job and responsibility. My wife supported my decision to leave the job for a much less stressful job. as a result i am home more with my wife and kids and i love it. but the new work schedule doesnt leave the time i used to have for the gym. so i have gained like 50 pounds. last week i had a doctor's appt. my physical went ok except the doctor saying in the nicest possible way "hey youre fat now." i got my blood work back and hey what has two thumbs and is prediabetic? (Holds up two thumbs) this guy. So i have to change the way i eat and have to make time to exercise. no big deal. except i already cook meals based on one dietary restriction (my wife is vegan) and then my picky eater kids. now i have to cut my carbs. want to know what is easy to cook and is usually cheap to eat, especially when you took a job making a fraction of what you used to make? thats right Carbs. ok so i settled on the fact i have to change how i eat again. and i worked with my wife to figure out when i can get to the gym to try to lose this weight that is like a keg around my stomach.
and then my tooth broke.
when i was 19 years old i had an abscessed tooth. i needed a root canal. the dentist did NOT listen to me when i told him that i metabolize Novocain faster than average and he needs to give me more. as a result like 10 minutes into the root canal i could feel EVERYTHING that was happening. so having a root canal with like not pain killers causes me to have a lot of anxiety when i think of going to the dentist. lets now set the wayback machine to 11 years ago. my best friend is getting married. i am the officiant. and I CHIP MY FRONT TEETH. TWO FRONT TEETH. So i make a dentist appointment. they have to prescribe me Zanax to calm me enough so they can sedate me. to give me veneers.
since then I would be lying if i said i was diligent about tooth care, i brush daily. i dont floss. but not regular check ups. my mouth is a little jacked, but as long as i am not in pain i do not do anything.
on Sunday i woke up to my Vaneer being loose. on monday that shit fell outta my fucking mouth, i managed to not swallow it. and put it back in my mouth with fixadent. I managed to get an appointment and they didnt have time to give me zanax. they reinsert my tooth. and say the way it broke this fix might not last. could last 1 day could last 1 month. could last 10 years.
it lasted 2 days. 2 days. and it fucking broke while i was eating a low carb tortilla.
its 100 fucking degrees outside and my central air is subpar.
so i am now eating food i do not like.
with a broken tooth
and i am doing it while sweating my goddamned ass off.
its been a long fucking week and its not over yet.
