network issue due to a storm that happened days ago??

but the cable and internet worked fine during and after the storm but days later there is an issue due to the storm?? and to add to that the cable and internet came on for about 5 hours but has now been out since 7:30 pm eastern time yesterday. how is it due to the storm BUT it was working during and after the storm?
