Hello! We (my fiancé and I) recently found a kitten (vet estimate about 5-7 weeks, male), Rune. We have an adult (female, 5y/o, deaf, tripod) kitty, Cleo and she’d been getting pretty decent separation anxiety from us when we went to work. We thought it was a great opportunity! After the initial few days, the kitties ended up getting along really well! They were playing together, cuddling, ect! The only issues we had was if our little man got a little too into playing and she would correct him. Overall, going very well after a week or so.

Last week (Tuesday), my fiancé had a trip planned and I stayed with the kitties while I could and all went well. A few days into his trip, I left to watch my mom’s dog but came back a few times every day to hang out with the cats and clean. Everything went well. No issues, all cuddles.

When my fiancé got back on Sunday, he apparently walked in and Cleo had baby Rune in her mouth and shaking him around. He said it reminded him of a dog with a toy. Since I’ve been back with my mom, I have noticed her being more aggressive with us and little Rune. We think both kitties may have a little cold but are still eating, drinking, and using the litter boxes normally.

We have no idea why she switched up so fast, especially after they’d been doing well. Any ideas or advice is welcome! I really don’t want to re-home the little one if we don’t have to. If it’s necessary, that’s fine. I can clarify anything if needed. Thanks for reading this far !Pics are of our babies.
