Arbitrarily I decided to weight myself every 45 days. Today is day 90 since I started. For me it has been beneficial not to weight myself daily nor weekly, but every 45 days (around 6 weeks). I just have the weight in day in my mind as a goal but don’t stress to much about it.

When I started I decided not to tell anyone of my weight lost journey and I haven’t told anyone directly, but people have started to notice and have mention that I have lost some weight and been encouraging. Specially the people in my life that I don‘t see daily, but maybe once a month.

During the first 45 days I walked and hour daily and started doing some weight training, this lasted for about a week into my next 45 days and then I stopped. I mentioned in my first post that I started this journey because of heartbreak and that pain still lingers in me. I have been anxious and depressed most of these last 45 days and found getting any exercise in a day really challenging, my mind and body just wanted to lay down. I am hoping to start exercising again in the next 45 days, I think it made the difference from losing 30lbs the first time to losing 25lbs this time.

I read about CICO in this subreddit and found it to be really helpful. I eat around 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day on average. I give priority to eating protein, mainly eggs and chicken, and complement with veggies from a salad. I also ate a lot of wraps without any dressing and leaving about half the wrap tortilla uneaten. I have also had days when I ate more calories but I think I stayed under 2,000 calories for those days. When I had social engagements I would eat lightly during the day and eat normal portions during the social interaction without limiting what types of food I ate at all. Steaks, baked potatoes, Seafood, sushi, even portions of dessert and beers.

I started wearing 3xlt shirts and now wear 2xl (these don’t fit me too tight now). I still don’t lIke how I look in mirrors.

My initial goal was getting to 214lbs. I am halfway there. I still keep this as my main goal but have started thinking of trying to get to 192lbs after I reach 214lbs since that is around the the recommended weight for someone my height.

I’m still heartbroken and find it hard to exercise but I think the eating part is working for me. CICO has really helped streamline it in my mind, I eat the ocasional cookie or piece of chocolate and it’s no big deal. I do eat mostly the same foods everyday but so far have not found that to be a struggle.

I also read the posts in this subreddit and that has helped me learned things and feel motivated by the stories people shared about their journeys.

I wish all of you success, one foot in front of the other and we will get there.
