Weekly Update (8/3/26) - Overview Card, Transaction Table & Mobile

Hello budgeters, another glorious monday arrives with some more really fun updates.

  • Overview Card

Sayonara Summary Card, you've been replaced. Or at least slightly displaced by the brand new Overview card! This card gives you a quick monthly progress overview with your cash flow up top, and Assignment/Activity/Available category breakdown.

  • Activity

Yes I said activity up there. The outflow column has been renamed to activity because it includes both inflow/outflows, and outflow was not an accurate description. This was made obvious with the cashflow breakdown in the overview, which truly means outflow by itself.

  • Summary/History

The summary card has been renamed to history and now has a configurable option to show 3, 6, 12 month history or all. This changes what number the average is based on, so you can stick to a short term window if you want to use recent bucket history instead.

  • Net Worth

The net worth card has been redesigned with a visual bar chart and a hover breakdown of your on budget/off budget numbers.

  • Bucket/Transation row selection

Both row selections are consistent now with a crosshair cursor to select a row. Both now support shift clicking for group selections and control clicking for targeted selections.

  • Transaction Display Options

You can now click any column header for 3 new display options. You can hide the Balance column on Account pages, you can hide the Day of the week badge on the date column, and you can toggle on and off the new month dividers.

The month dividers give you a little visual hint at what month transactions fall in and they are clickable to select all transactions for the month.

  • Credit Card Payment button

The Payment Pool balance on the credit card account page has been converted to a Payment button, containing the same information but now clickable to automatically create a payment transfer. The reconcile button was also redesigned to match the style and look distinct from the other toolbar buttons, and the reconcile icon will appear as a badge. The date that displays is the last reconciled date.

  • Archived Account Warning

A sneaky bug may affect your assignable balance if you have an on-budget, archived account with a non-zero balance. In the future, archiving an account will automatically create an adjustment to zero it out. Rather than retroactively changing affected users, I added an action badge bringing this to your attention. • Mobile Overview

Mobile has a brand new Overview page to show you your progress at a glance and net worth for the month, similar to the overview card that was added to the web aside. You can swipe to change months.

  • Mobile Calendar

The calendar page now includes a real calendar up top with a day level drilldown.

  • Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug calculating the page heights which may have caused unwanted scroll bars to appear. Fixed a bug with keyboard navigation of the Type dropdown in the add transaction form (when clicking the Payment button for example, you can now press up or down to change the source of the payment).

  • Up Next

The time has come! The overview card was so fun that it gave me the push I needed to finally focus on Reports. Reports have long been the weakest part of the application, especially since I put most of that effort into Projections instead. But no longer! I'm going to tackle them one at a time on web, and the end goal will be to port them to mobile.

Thanks as always and I appreciate you all,
-adp
