Best 8 input budget Audio Interface?
Hi,
I’ve been using a Scarlett 18i8 gen 1 but it’s drivers are just terrible on windows 11, which is what I use. My previous 4 input Scarlett gen 3 also had driver issues (since this is focusrite we are talking about) but it’s even worse on this, to the point that a switch is necessary.
8 inputs is ideal, since im currently using 3 to 4 stereo synths (Yamaha VL-70m, Roland Sound Canvas 8850, Roland U-220 and (sometimes) Alesis D4 for those curious) but may add more in the future. The Behringer UMC 1820 looks very appealing and has a good price, but I want to make sure it’s drivers are good for windows 11. I hear it can also have its inputs extended, which might be of use for me in the future. Is this one my best bet or are there any other at this price range to consider? How do it’s drivers compare to focusrite‘s? Also, is any unwanted software forced alongside the drivers like for the volt interfaces?
Thank you for your time.
