Pole recommendations that do not attach to the ceiling?

I am looking to buy a pole for my home, but I rent and the ceiling is... interesting to say the least. The previous renter had water damage and now my ceiling is like slope shaped in one corner, and I do not trust it to hold a pole! My studio uses XPole stages which do not attach to the ceilings and I like these very much but they are £600+ GBP , so I am wondering if there are any cheaper stage pole alternatives? Or do I need to splurge the £600 for an Xpole stage?
