Who are the most recent artists to reach Beatles or Michael Jackson-level global fame?

recently saw a post about the Beatles, and it got me wondering whether any modern artists have achieved that same level of worldwide fame and cultural reach.

I often hear about artists selling out stadiums or headlining enormous festivals despite having barely heard of them myself. Has the internet created more global superstars, or has it fragmented music culture to the point where an artist can have a massive worldwide audience without becoming universally recognizable?
