Moving into my first place alone and I know nothing about decorating. I know I need to make it a “me place” but also I want friends and family to feel welcome.

Are there any places or people that can help you make an aesthetic? I’m honestly okay with eating butter noodles alone but I think family may visit once or twice.

Of course I would pay.

I’m a huge book nerd (mostly fantasy recently) that wants to expand my horizons a bit more. I like fantasy/sci-fi (honestly Robin Hobb, Sarah Monette, and Elizabeth Moon were the only female authors in that space I read and loved).

I want to get back into some more modern fiction. My favorite male author in that field was Jonathan Tropper. I LOVED A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. Can anyone recommend contemporary fiction (I’ll take fantasy and science fiction recommendations also) in the same vein?

Even if the main character is a woman written by a man if you have ideas.

I used to buy 12 packs of Surge from the corner store and sell the cans at my elementary school. I remember the manager gave me a Surge compilation CD that introduced me to both Jimmy Eat World And Five for Fighting.

No one I know has heard Bella’s Birthday Cake but it’s rent free in my head.

I asked a similar question in movie suggestions but what episodes of a last stand hit you hardest? Any genre. Whether the MCs live or die.

Examples like BSG when the Galactica does a in orbit jump, or SGC in Stargate against the Ori, Spartacus, Jericho, etc.

Obviously I’m a sci-fi nerd but looking for any genre.

Saw a post that the Charge of Rohirrim is one of the greatest examples of this. I don’t care if they won or lost but what movies stand out as a scene where the heroes rush into battle knowing they may die.

My first thought was The Last Samurai or Braveheart but also looking for things like the BSG episode where the Galactica jumps into the atmosphere to save the survivors.

recently saw a post about the Beatles, and it got me wondering whether any modern artists have achieved that same level of worldwide fame and cultural reach.

I often hear about artists selling out stadiums or headlining enormous festivals despite having barely heard of them myself. Has the internet created more global superstars, or has it fragmented music culture to the point where an artist can have a massive worldwide audience without becoming universally recognizable?

Who, if anyone, would you put in the same tier as the Beatles and Michael Jackson?

Looking for some good songs that tell or story like Ringo by Lorne Green, Big John by Jimmy Dean or You Don’t Mess Around With Jim by Jim Croce.

They don’t have to be classics - just something that tells a tale with music.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been receiving reports of horrible computer hang ups and in a lot of cases I’m seeing the MSSense service change from delayed start to automatic right before this occurs - it’s sometimes followed up by a CoPilot or Teams (or both update) and then the service switches back from automatic to delayed. The EDR process is one of the top hitters during this period along with SVChost and our RMM tool.

I’m curious if anyone has seen this or knows what is happening when this occurs.

I’ve been reading up on EDR exclusions and will look into excluding the RMM tool but the CoPilot update is not delivered by it and seems to be a trigger in some of these cases.
