The Answer to your Unspoken Question

Go ahead and ask.
Please, I really want to tell you!

Men always try that same tired line on you, and you don’t buy it. They never can explain why they say it.
You’re right to doubt. Most men are feeding lines.
But I’m not.

When I tell you that you are special.
When I say that I am bound to you.
When I capitalize certain words when they are about you, it’s because I mean them entirely.

I have spent five years writing poetry about you. You’re the whole reason that I started again. I could assemble a book out of all of the ways I have described you as special. One day I hope to do just that.
Do you really think that I can’t express it when I have uncounted words all about you?

The biggest obstacle on why I don’t say it all is you. You have that kind of inner turmoil at hearing the fact of how amazing you are that can’t bear it for very long. You downplay the legitimate praise I would give, and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.
Also, I don’t want to bore or annoy you with what feels like love bombing. That’s why most of what I do is poetry, so it is said with color and style rather than directly.

How about I pick one thing. One unquestioned, unbiased, unimpeachable area that makes you special?

You are a true artist.
That word means something to me. I don’t use it lightly. Lots of people make some variety of art. The write, or sing, or sculpt, or take photos. But what they do isn’t art, it is merely self-expression that goes no farther. I can’t even put my own feeble efforts as high as them.
But you? Tens of thousands of people have seen what you have made, though they may not know your name. You have produced in many different forms and they all are good. You convey beauty and purpose in ways that leave me stunned but appear so effortless.
I’ve written half a dozen poems just trying to explain how a short clip of light and shadow in one of your videos has a beauty that I can’t match.

See? I didn’t share my biased opinion. I didn’t talk about the way that you have changed my life and heart forever. I said nothing about your staggering beauty or witty mind.
All facts.

You are the most special woman I have ever met.
