Almost
When I imagine you,
What do I see?
I picture a tall stature,
Awkward bones covered by a baggy tee and jeans,
Hair brown & soft to the touch.
You flash a crooked smile
That lingers everywhere I go
I hear a snarky voice,
and the quiet whirring of your brain.
You'd probably make me laugh just as much.
Annoyed as much, too.
I want to feed it,
And make it grow strong.
I’d wake up to those steady hands,
A warmth I’ve imagined for so long.
But no matter how much I yearn for it,
Circle it,
He'll only exist in my mind,
And the buzz of my phone.
