What would you do?

Eye Issues

My poor boy Hans, M17 Has been having a rough go of it lately. About 2 weeks ago his third eyelid over his left eye started covering most of the eye.

After a few vet visits, several different meds, the condition worsening, and a referral to an animal Opthalmologist it's been determined that his eye is actually fine and that there is likely a mass behind it pushing out against it. The Opthalmologist wants us to go to a specialty hospital to have imaging done, but the soonest we can be seen is in two weeks. And we would then of course have to wait even longer for whatever procedure would be done. He did inform us if the mass is cancer that it's likely the risk from the surgery would be too high. It's also likely not an infection as he's had a steady regimen of anti biotic eye drops and an anti biotic shot which have not helped him.

All the while, Hans is getting worse, his third eyelid has prolapsed. And his face is a little swollen on that side. He's on pain medication but i can tell this problem is starting to affect him, although he will still eat and drink, as well as purr readily when he gets some attention which he's getting a lot of lately.

We're waiting on a call from our normal Veterinarian to discuss what they think is the right next move but they closed for the day and didn't get back to us. So i figured i would ask the cat community what they would do next. Should we think about having his eye removed to give us more time to investigate the Mass? should we start discussing end of life steps?
