Recruiting Battles - Scholarship... bug?
Maybe I'm just not a smart man. Maybe this is a bug. I dunno. I've been playing mostly dynasty and spending most of my time recruiting because that's what I enjoy. Also, I haven't played NCAA since 2014 so maybe this is a known thing to the rest of you - I'm mostly a PC player now. Anyway..
Early on, I noticed the Recruiting Battle mechanic when two schools more or less tie in their recruitment of a player. But after checking it out, my takeaway was that all you can do is sit back to see who wins while throwing everything you have at the recruit. By the time we get to this point, I am doing everything I can to get this recruit, including Hard Sell, DMing (50 hours total) and the best NIL scholarship I can (or that I want to) offer. I found that I normally lost most Battles but I had no idea why. I assumed that my program grades were just not as good as the other program and moved on.
But yesterday I noticed something different. I was offering a max NIL deal to a particularly awesome recruit that I wanted badly. The deal was offered before we even reached the Battle stage. But when I went to double check everything before moving to the next week, I noticed that the NIL deal had had changed. It still showed the Scholarship Offer was live with the Edit Scholarship button with the green check box. But there was no NIL attached to it anymore. I had to go in and set the NIL all over again. And boom - I won the recruit the next week. So I sped through the season and tested again. This time I ended up with 2 Battles at the same time. Oddly enough, one of them kept his NIL offer the same when it entered Battle mode while the other one reset as before and I had to update it.
Has anyone else seen this? Is it a known bug or am I missing something?
