Recently, my (23M / Pakistan) kitten (\~4 months old/F) went through several days of IV fluids while being treated for suspected Panleukopenia. She finally got off the IVs around Day 9, when she started eating and drinking on her own again.

At that point, she would really only eat boiled chicken and occasionally some treats. She had absolutely no interest in dry cat food, so we stuck mostly to boiled chicken for the remainder of the recovery period.

Another week passed, and her diet was basically 90% boiled chicken and 10% cat food. I took her to the vet two days ago for a checkup, and everything seemed good. Her gums and stomach were fine, she had no fever, etc. She also received her first round of vaccinations. However, since coming back from the vet, she has completely dropped that 10% of cat food again.

The only way I can get her to eat any cat food now is by shredding some chicken and putting a ton of dry cat food over it. I've also tried switching brands, but she doesn't seem interested in those either. Wet food was gets pretty expensive, especially after everything she had already been through, so I can't really see if thats a viable replacement atm.

The other thing that has me concerned is that I've recently caught her trying to eat her own litter. At first I assumed it was just one of those weird kitten things, but it's becoming a daily occurrence. She only eats a tiny amount, but she does actively try to eat it.

I checked the litter for stool as well, and there was some. The litter was last cleaned about 48 hours ago, so she has definitely been using it normally.

My main concerns are her very low intake of cat food and the fact that she's eating litter. Vet visits are unfortunately a bit difficult right now considering how much the Panleukopenia treatment and vaccinations have already cost me. At the moment, I really only have enough set aside for her second round of vaccinations.

That said, she otherwise seems to be doing very well. She's exceptionally playful, zooms around normally, eats a ton of the boiled chicken, and drinks normally.

I'm mainly looking for advice on what I should do from here. Is it okay to continue giving her boiled chicken while I work on transitioning her back to cat food, and should I be particularly concerned about the occasional litter-eating?
