Ozium Exposure

General Advice

Poster age: 39 Country: Canada Vet info: Yes vet is accessible TLDR: Cats exposed to ozium Cat age: 11 and 12 Cat sex: both female, spayed Financial situation: yes I can afford vet care

I took an uber home and the car stank so strongly of ozium new car smell. The driver must have just sprayed it before I got in.

When I got home, I pet the cats and got in the shower, but the steam made the smell go everywhere. It’s been hours and my whole house smells like new car, especially the bedroom where the cats sleep.

I’m super worried that the vapour and remaining glycols or essential oils/fragrance or whatever else is in ozium that apparently makes it so toxic is going to make my cats sick. They are currently puffed up loafs who at least don’t seem happy about it. Like literally, my house smells so strongly. I have the windows open but it’s not fading much.

Do I need to worry about this? They already have kidney issues so I’m concerned that this will push the ckd further along. I remember reading how toxic it is for both people and pets.
