My wife is pregnant, and my cat has been more affectionate towards me than her?

My male cat, who is a tabby, he is 5 years old, almost 6. He was cuddly and affectionate until about 2 I’d say. And then he’s been more independent, but ever since my wife became pregnant, he’s been super cuddly with her, but more cuddly with me. I’m confused, is this normal?
