If there will be a tank shortage, melee dps will have a tough time finding groups

This is obviously nothing new, melee dps always had difficulties finding groups or getting gear in classic and also TBC but i think a lot of people are misunderstanding the cause of this a little.

"yeah but mage aoe got nerfed and dungeon spam is nerfed" and thats true but here is the thing

If I as a tank always have the option to choose out of 100 dps that are all desperately waiting for a tank, why would i ever pick people that compete for my gear?
If im a warrior im not gonna pick a rogue who will roll on my axe, im gonna pick a mage.

As a tank i can make the group how i want and get all my loot, this further exacerbates the issue of tank (and also healer ) shortage because i can get geared way waster, not only can i run more dungeons without waiting but there is also no competition for my loot

I also think that this issue will get worse through dual spec, because while in theory it gives more people the option to tank, they will only tank to get their dps gear and not invite other people who compete for their gear.

You dont have to believe me on this or have your own opinion, but maybe this is some sort of warning for some people who want to play rogue or plan on playing only melee dps without tank/heal offspec
