Lakers get #1. Boston gets #2.
Celtics and Lakers get top picks, and Wiggins and Embiid stay, along with Parker who allegedly already is staying.
That means we don't get to pick those three.
right, and that would make the whole league miserable
miserably awesome
Here's mine: with the first pick in the NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Jabari Parker, Duke. The Bucks run on the NBA treadmill, never really competing, but always ending up in the middle of the lottery. Milwaukee becomes sneaky good when teams just don't play well in the dead Bradley Center, rumors swirl for years about the Bucks moving to Seattle.
The Minnesota Timberwolves trade with the Los Angeles Lakers Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio for the Laker's 3 first rounders and a bunch of second rounders and trade exemptions starting in 2015, figuring the Lakers will be badly handicapped by Kobe's contract.
With the second pick in the draft, the LA Lakers select Andrew Wiggins. Kobe realizes that he can't win another championship with his contract and renegotiates to veteran minimum. Intrigued by the glamour and potential, Lebron signs with the Lakers as a free agent. The Lakers go on to win 8 of the next 10 championships. Kobe passes Jordan for #7. Wiggins lives up to his hype as the next Lebron. The Lakers dominate with a ridiculous small ball line up of Rubio-korver-wiggins-Lebron-Love. As soon as Lebron retires, Wiggins is ready to step in and continues the Lakers dynasty.
With the third pick in the draft, the 76's select Julius Randle. The lineup of MCW-Young-Randle-Noel turn out to be really good, and the 76's are one of the best teams in the league, starting a whole new era of tanking.
With the fourth pick of the draft, the Magic trade the pick to Portland for two future 1's and CJ McCullum, who selects Joel Embiid. Embiid proceeds to continue to have back problems and never plays a minute in the NBA.
We have a ten year run of Lakers dominance. The tanking of the Boston Celtics results in mediocrity, Bill Simmons becomes boring. The only team that seems to do well against the Lakers is Tom Thibadou and the Bulls. Bulls fans watch in agony as Kobe gets #7. The year is 2020, the Finals is Wiggins, Lebron, and the Lakers vs. Anthony Davis and the Bulls. The Bulls pull out to a 3-2 series lead. The last two games are at a roucous United Center. It's time to end the Laker's dynasty. Tickets are selling for more than 20,000$ for courtside, as this is the biggest series in basketball history. Lebron plays out of his mind at the ripe old age of 35 to win games 6 and 7 and the undisputed GOAT. Bulls fans watch in agony as the great Michael Jordan is passed. Lebron retires, but the Lakers continue to dominate.
Also, the old Hornets colors turn out to not be cool as they used to be in the 90's. Bobcats gear becomes ironically cool. Crowds in Charlotte are half Bobcat half Hornet colors.
The only part about your post that really killed me was the part where Korver leaves the ATL.
I'm really cool with this scenario :)
Bucks get the #1 pick, trade it to the Heat for Norris Cole and James Jones.
I wouldn't even be surprised.
I'd just buy some Sonics gear
Lakers get #1 pick only embiid goes pro out of the big name players
Oh what a shame...
Wiggins declared on Monday
Wiggins gets hit by a car.
...
Driven by Jabari Parker, who flies through the windshield on account of not wearing his seatbelt and lands right on Joel Embiid and Julius Randle, who'd stopped at a nearby taco truck for a quick snack. Also, Dante Exum is killed by a drop bear while on his way to the airport.
