So I've hit 36 weeks today...

...and I'm freaking out about it!! I'm so not ready to go into labor, deal with pain and hours (maybe) of laying in a hospital bed and then push a baby out, bring him home, and take care of this little one for the next 18 years! I just fear something is gonna go wrong during any of this. I'm in no way one for pain and i know I'm gonna be crying through every bit of it. Also the place we're in is small and has 2 other roommates who are college students and we're stuck here till the end of summer because we can't end our lease or sublease in any way. I'm just so worried about everything and i can't stop thinking about it. Evry day when i walk or stand or am upright in any way, it feels like this little man is just gonna fall out! Idk what I'm going to do for these next four weeks. Ugh...I'm just so ready for this to be over but i don't want to have to go through everything just to be done...

Ugh I know the feels. I'm 36w tomorrow and this morning I lost my mucus plug. I think that the actual reality of what I've been mindlessly doing the past 9 months is starting to sink in a bit now and holy shit NOT READY FOR THIS

I'm just so worried about everything! I haven't lost my plug yet (i don't think) but I've had a lot of (TMI!) discharge the past few weeks. I don't think I'll ever be ready even when my LO is here!

I guess there will always be something to worry about from here on out, unfortunately. Par for the parenting course :-(

I'm a bit of a control freak so this sort of unknown stuff makes me a bit uncomfortable but I guess it's just something new to get used to. We've gotten used to all kinds of crazy shit the past 36 weeks. We'll get used to the "new" normal soon enough :-)

Due the day before you with my second, and I'm not ready. In reality we just need diapers and a name for little guy, the rest is ready...but I'm not!

Same with the diapers and name but along with EVERYTHING else! Hope we can get everything we need and figured out!

Whoa, you're really getting inside your head! I'm 36 weeks on Wednesday so I can totally empathise with the point you're at. Don't look at it as being 'on' for the next 18 years or having to lay in hospital, labouring for hours; that's an impossible goal. Try and look at it as "Ok, labour will come, it will hurt but out of my entire life, how long will this hurt for?" It is a blip on your radar in terms of time and it will end, no matter how you may feel in the midst of it. The same kind of thinking can apply to your current living situation.

I'm just one of the biggest worry worts out there and a really big panicker! I know this is just a small (albeit also BIG) step and blip in my life but it's the fact that it's actually happening! I was always one of those people that said i would NEVER have kids yet here i am about to have a little boy grace my life.

MonkeySam, I know you have so much strength in you that you'll be able to handle anything life throws your way. You have already been strong for your baby for 36 weeks, and no matter how your labor goes, you will be awesome. Everyone here is rooting for you and believing in you.

36+5 here and can totally relate. Am not dialated yet nor have I lost the mucus plus but this boy feels low and ready! The anxiety of when will he come is taking over. We packed our hospital bag this weekend and nursery is done and car seat is installed. I am really regretting working up until my due date. The thought of going into labor while at work is overwhelming!
