Help me plan my battle strategy, I'm new to Civ5 MP

Me and my friend are in a tense battle of Civ5 MP. Currently we are in between play sessions. I'm requesting help with my battle strategy. It is turn 184 and our peace treaty expires 188. I'm Ottoman He is England

**The victory is domination only.

This is a custom map which we are "not" allowed to paratroop/bomb across the mountain range.

The turns are simultaneous (sigh) and that makes them about speed early moves.

We are playing gods and kings.

The world follow my religion.

We are both at future tech.

He has taken 2 of my cities and i have taken 5 of his.

He has a larger military.**

I made the early mistake of only producing Battleships (because of Ottomans 'prize ships' ability)

We have 4 turns left of a peace treaty and both have decided to go for capitals for a swift kill.

My current plan is to take Coventry and bomb him from there. Not being on the coast will make it hard for him to attack there.

Please help. Ideas?

Edit::I have a game update with our most recent session. I want to hear more of you input and idea. It's fun to hear from you guys! Should i update this one or make a new thread.

Edit: I won, a swift victory. On turn 331

If I remember correctly, gifting a carrier/sub with a nuke on it will delete the nuke. I cannot think of any other way of getting a nuke to a city state, but I know that they will not produce them on their own.

No :/

Project: Proxy War would have been much easier if I could have.

You can, however, give them guided missiles.

Wow, what map is this?

And as for strategy its almost like a chess game; it can go on forever. My suggestion is play it mentally, send a small naval army to near a city, but out of any harm, still making sure he sees and sends units to protect it. At the same time, send a larger force to another city unexpectedly and catch him by surprise. Remember this isnt just a naval game, youll win through air. Stock up on stealth bombers and fighter jets to have as interception in your cities. A majority of your units should be planes and submarines, to defend from naval invasions. This is a very hard situation to give advice as its very balanced.

This is very intriguing I have to say. I don't think that right now you are in a state for war since your military is far weaker than his, perhaps that trade is a good idea. In the meantime, focus on units, subs and planes especially, to eventually launch a blitzkrieg-like assault.

Just build stealth bombers, move to your forward most city, then drop xcom all surrounding his city and take it in 1 turn. If you cant get close enough with that, nuke his navy. IMO you shoudl work on getting istanbul back and killing his navy on your side of the map first, so either stealth bomber them out (ideal) or nuke them (assuming uranium somewhere on the map). The goal here being to efficiently take out his army with little investment of your own. Considering you are both at future tech, the wars will probably become tedious at this point since only production and attrition matter.

Just to verify: you intentionally agreed to a set of rules that wi require you each to grind the other down, rather than take advantage of the modern toys that prevent the game from turning into a mind-numbing grind?

I'd rather say he preferred the challenge over the easy way out.

First, sell all your science buildings and devote everything to production/gold. Then, mass stealth bombers in your capital and bomb London to rubble (I'm pretty sure you can fly them over mountains but not certain) and when you get it to zero health, send in a pack of destroyers on a suicide run to capture it.

It is going to be virtually impossible to capture a 164 strength city without nukes/stealth bombers. You've essentially guaranteed an indefinite stalemate as any element of surprise becomes worthless as the time it will take to get the cities down to 0 health is more than enough to move a fleet into position. Flying helicopter gunships to London and pillaging all of his tiles might slow him down, but likely breaks your contrived rules. You might just have to amass a giant fleet and overwhelm his cities one by one unless he quits.

Stealth bombers are key in this sort of engagement. Build as many as you can, and wipe out his submarines that are letting him watch your movements. Then focus on taking the cities he bases his bombers out of.

Do you think you could share the map? I'm interested in fighting my friend on this map.

We both have everything. So that's not a problem.

Plenty of resources is great. Better for wars.

Maybe dropbox or Google drive? Whichever you have an account with.
