An Aggregator for What’s Hot Right Now

  1. The mobile application is an opt-in service that taps into a user’s various social networks via API:

a. Facebook b. Twitter c. Instagram d. Vine e. Google+ 2. Each respective network feed converges into one major pipeline feed in the app which are all aggregated into the App environment. 3. Public posts/tweets/updates from social networks will also feed into the pipeline. 4. Users can see what is going on in his/her or a specific local area via location services or by inputting a zip/postal code or specifying a state or region. 5. Users will be able to see where are the hottest parties, notable social media news, scandalous postings, “sin content,” etc. as they are happening. 6. Users will also be able to view what is trending nationally, globally, etc.

Love the frame, hate the content.

The frame (items 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6) are brilliant. If I could use that platform to follow everything people are saying about my football team, I would use it in a heartbeat.

But the content you're applying to it - item 5 - well, I would rather poke my eye out with a hot iron bar before using it.

It's like Twitter didn't build Twitter, but some Twitter for (insert vertical silo, in your case, slebs).

Right, I had the same thoughts in regards to the quality of potential content. I have to admit that it would be a huge draw for 13-35 year olds interested in the latest gossip--even if it doesn't personally interest us.

Though if one could find sports teams dialogue (as you suggested) or any other trending topic such as the Clippers' owner's racist comments or politically charged issues via the app then that would be a model I would be more interested in than strictly TMZ style nonsense.

Yeah, I hear you. It doesn't need to appeal to me for there to be an attractive and worthwhile niche.

I guess my question - embedded in my comparison to Twitter - is more aimed at this: It sounds like you are building a great platform that could serve a universe of potential interests / verticals. I don't really understand why you are limiting yourself to just one vertical.

Maybe the Venn diagrams don't overlap in the way I imagine. Anyway I leave that to you. As I said, I definitely think the platform you're building (1-4, 6) is needed in the market.

Yea, well I'm actually not building it due to other commitments. It's just a shame for the idea to go to waste which is why I shared it.
