39 weeks today and I'm freaking out!

Omgomgomgomgomgomg....I have exactly one week until my due date and two weeks and one day till my induction date. I'm so scared! I'm so worried about the pain and the entire ordeal. We don't have half the things we need, our room (we live with college roommates in a university apartment complex for now till our lease ends) isn't clean to it's fullest, the bag is only half packed, I don't have any post partum things for when i get home, and I'm just worried about everything! I totally wish there was an easier way to do all this. I'm such a wimp with pain and a huge worrywort. I woke up this morning with the worst swelling in my feet (not bad, just bigger than I've had this entire pregnancy) and I've had small pains and twinges in my pelvic area all day so I've been freaking out thinking I'm gonna go into labor today or the next couple days. I have an appointment tomorrow that I'll be asking about all this at but it's still just keeping me on edge. I'm trying to relax but I can't and I'm so scared about everything. Ugh...can i just wake up one day and my little man just magically be here with no pain involved? Please?

39w tomorrow myself and alternate between OK COOL I GOT THIS and OMFGNOnononononno.

I can magically eat more and am peeing more frequently again with little result so I'm panicked she's dropped. Which should be a good thing, right? 8 days to go, all this stuff should be happening?! But man does it freak me out. Not being able to control when/how/what goes on is the WORST for me but I'm trying to just go with the proverbial flow, more or less.

I remember when I first joined r/BabyBumps all those months ago, seeing ladies talking about buying milk or whatever that expires after they're due and thinking "wow, it's SO LONG until that's me" but the milk in the fridge right now expires on the 9th May......I'll have a baby asleep in this house before that milk expires......

Lol i remember all the milk posts! I just laughed! Now I'm in the same boat with milk that expires ON my due date.... I saw that and freaked out even more! I just wish there was a way to control everything but of course, it's life. There's not.

Husband asked me the other day if reading all the birth stories is actually helpful and I was like hell yes, it's the only way I feel prepared!

Same with the boyfriend! All the stories are what are keeping me sane right now!

If I went off dates based on the medication I was taking and had implantation bleeding... I'm due right with you on the fourth. Ultrasounds kept putting the baby at the 9th though. I haven't wanted to get my hopes up so I've kept to the 9th, especially the closer we get to our EDD. Honestly, from the moment I hit 33 weeks, I've been in a panic. That's when my oldest tried to come 12 years ago. Every day closer is making it harder to bear that this one isn't here yet. Even more so when I remember that I was 39 weeks when my current youngest was born. Meaning if I hold to the 4th as my EDD, then this one will have incubated longer than either of his brothers.... I almost wish he'd come now!

Due the day before you and my feet just swelled like mad last night. I think it was going out to see a movie...sitting in the chair for 2.5 hours really did a number on me. My Dr. said she wouldn't let me go beyond May 10th, so 13 days left at most. We're in the homestretch!

From someone from the other side who's baby came at 37 weeks I wasn't prepared at all, I didn't even know I was in labour. When I was told I was 5cm I freaked out saying I wasn't ready, but looking back I was and didn't realize it. Yes it hurts but it's manageable and it's worth it, you always have the options of pain relief to try {give the gas and air a good go, it was a life saver for me}! I'd go back and do it ten times over for my little boy. If it helps, a friend gave birth with no pain relief at all, not even gas, and said it wasn't actually as painful as she thought! You can always get friends and family to pop out and buy you things once your LO arrives. All you need are the bare essentials. You'll do brilliant, good luck! Edit: I am a MASSIVE massive wimp and I managed with gas and air. Asked for the Epi but it didn't have chance to work. You can do it!
