Possible transfer student

So like the title says, I'm thinking about transferring to SDSU, given I could get accepted and find a place and such. Is anyone a psychology major on this subreddit that would care to talk about the program as an undergrad at SDSU? or even other colleges in the area compared to it?

First of all, when transferring, assist.org is your best friend.

I graduated from the psychology undergraduate program in 2008, so, while I can give you some advice, it might be dated. I came in as a transfer as well. I believe the major is still impacted at SDSU as it was when I began. So, you'll have to complete some "prep for the major" courses before being officially admitted into the program (your major will read PRE-PSYCHOLOGY or something to that effect). Personally, I had a fairly good experience. I was mostly focused on research--took advanced research/stats courses and completed a couple research assistantships and senior thesis. As a psychology major at SDSU, you are usually urged to complete a minor in an area related to what you'd like to emphasize in. I wound up double majoring in linguistics because I liked cognitive psych and psycholinguistics.
