New bear meme? How long do you think it's going to take this one to turn racist?
AS A BLACK MAN
I HATE BLACK PEOPLE
SOMETIMES I LAUGH AT THE POOR BLACKS IN MY AREA

So I guess society began to devolve the moment Fox News began airing?
It was definitely a step back
Well, yeah actually.
I don't see anything wrong with saying that pundits being paid to act like scientists don't know what they are talking about is wrong. The use of the word "devolve" is irritating though.
In the meme's defense, that shit is annoying
But it's not like scientists are celebrities? If public opinion puts a celebrity down, then they sort of become irrelevant. But scientists are kind of immune to that shit. I'm not sure about the logic here.
Or, I'm reading too much into a picture of a fucking polar bear with impact font on it.
But scientists are kind of immune to that shit.
Well, the scientist him/herself is, but the public perception isn't. There's a pretty strong anti-scientific sentiment in some parts of the US, and it's dangerous for the next generation of scientists; scientists being laughed at and ridiculed on tv only helps to further that by hurting the reputation of science in general.
On the other hand, I've never seen this happen anywhere IRL, I've only read complaints on reddit, and using a meme is a godawful way of spreading your opinion on this.

Right, right, tv news anchors have only just begun to suck. Is this another lack-of-self-awareness Fox News circlejerk where the jerkers will turn around and worship a different, equally useless television channel?
Oh great, another stupid fucking meme to be abused.
What the hell is this? Polarizing view polar bear?
This is popular view polar bear, which was a response to those "unpopular" confession bears. Its original intention was to mock unpopular opinions by putting in the most obnoxious opinions imaginable. This was the one that would be used for racist and sexist opinions as a circle-jerky countermeasure to the originals. However, just like any good satire, it has gone to a point where it is no longer clear what is really on the minds of the creators.
The sole exception being r/lewronggeneration of course. Maybe it's to such an extreme point that no one as dumb as the people we pretend to be exist. If they don't exist they won't be attracted to this place, thinking they're in "good company".
We are not an exception.
You forgot the "le".
