Dump trucks driving through Mendon Ponds

I got a new job a few months ago and I've been testing different routes to work. My newest route goes through Mendon Ponds via Canfield Rd. I've noticed a large number of dump trucks that drive on Canfield. I see at least one every morning and usually 3+ each evening and I only see them on Canfield Rd in the park. It seems strange. I used to commute on 490 and I'd rarely see so many dump trucks. Anyone have an idea why they travel through there? I would think that the county would ban big trucks from driving through the park.

There is a privately owned gravel pit in the park. The trucks are going to and from the pit.

Thanks! I just checked out the satellite view and it does look like there's a big ass gravel pit.

If you don't know, you've got a lot of living to do.

It's near the riding stable on Wilmarth Rd.

A trucking company test drives their trucks in that area. They go all the way up to the round-a-bout at Clover and 251 and turn around towards Mendon ponds park. Not sure if its them but could be.
