What's the strangest experience you've had while playing in net? I had mine last night...

So last night was the first game of the season for our city league. The first 15' my team had possession so I didn't have to do much. After the other team came down took a shot and I blocked it out wide for a corner. They take the corner and my defender heads it out. So while the team is getting set up again one of their strikers pinches me.

I knew I was dreaming do to what he was doing so I just pushed him away. The ref tells me to knock it off, and I said, excuse the language, "He just fucking pinched me, what else should I do?"

To which the ref responds, "Pinch him back"

At this point I didn't know what to do but after the next corner kick the little frigger did it again, and probably did it three more times before the half. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to clean him out, and the about three shots he took I saved easily.

I have to say, that was the strangest thing anyone has ever done to me, and the oddest thing a ref has ever told me to do. Anyone have a stranger experience?

As a shorter keeper, whenever a tall striker tries to get right in front of me for free kicks or corners, i just put my hand on his butt.

Jokes aside, I've had it done to me. It's the most bewildering moment in goal

Our coach in college would do this and a former pro basketball player pinched my butt during a pickup basketball game.

It was really weird at first, but you realize the mental things they're trying to do and ignore it/pay it back. I'm not going to lie, I've touched a butt or two on a corner kick.

Take it step further and rub their bums softly and if you're real adventurous make your way 'round front for a good ol' meat check.

I used these tactics in my competitive years with much success. That and not wearing deodorant a day or two before matches usually insured me having my space during corners and dangerous direct kicks.

I once saved a penalty only for it to bounce up into the air, hit me on the head, and go in. The referee ran over to me, said 'I think you need a hug after that' and hugged me. That was a strange game.

A player on my team fondles the goalkeeper's balls on corner kicks... Or at least mine in practice... o.O

Just wait until the opposing goalie whispers to him that he's gay

I played a game last season in the cup. It was against the favourites to win the league. The game was hyped up for weeks before, first team coaches and a few coaches from the international youth squad were there. The sun was out and it about as low as the crossbar; we couldn't see ANYTHING. They went in 2-0 up at half time but we thought we would have the advantage because if the sun. Well just before the second half starts it starts snowing and the wind was blowing towards us - it had been calm all day. Now the snow is pelting us in the face and again, we can barely see. They won 4-0, the only time we let in more than two goals that season. It was an awful day.

At a school tournament, the other team had a penalty. They argued for ages over something, then when the guy came up to take it, someone shouted "Chip it!" He said "Alright." So I just stood there, caught it, and he was surprised...

A while ago from a corner one of their players grabbed my junk. Naturally when going to catch the ball i used his bollocks as a hoist upwards

Last year we were in the championship game for our tournament. It was a hell of a game, ended 2-2, went to extra time, and ended up in PK's. We went first, mate drained it and then I was up, made the save. Our next player went and got saved, pressure was sort of building, I made the save nonetheless, after that nothing much, made all of ours, they made none, I saved them all.

-- Tldr - championship game, ended in PK's saved them all, and won. GG.

Eh, old coach would do that to me because I used to be a firecracker with my anger. He would play in practice with us and on every corner he would pinch me. pull my hair (it was long then) and worse to get into my head and to force me to yell. He learned that I was an angry kid and easily taken out of my zone Definitely taught me to keep my cool in serious situations. At the time I thought he was just an ass, lol good coaches can do that I guess.

I have a similar story. If I'd been less volatile, I'm sure I would have played more.

Little strikers would get in front of me and body me during corner kicks. Didn't work out for them :).
