From the above article
I have also heard that the temporary ceasefire was necessary so that the so-called separatists leave Ukrainian territory, that is close to ethnic cleansing," the minister added.
Just saw this in a Reuters report and couldn't believe my ears. Link to video of his remark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEAEXk950ZI#t=78s
Didn't Russia give the same deal to ethnic Ukrainians and Tartars living in the illegally annexed Crimea?

I'd love me some tartar, olive oil and stuff.
Tartar has been used for hundreds of years in English to refer to them. You don't call them Nihonjin, you call them Japanese, get over yourself.
"In other words, it's not a ceasefire, it's an ultimatum. It's not an invitaiton to negotiation of any kind."
A negotiation method consistent with their approach to working out gas prices.
Because if anyone would know anything about ethnic cleansing it's the Russians.
...country that has over 100 different nationalities coliving together. But don't let that discourage your circlejerk.

Nice recap, btw, did you know that during holodomor there was shortage of food everywhere I'm the Soviet union, due to anomalous heat in summer and cold I'm winter for two seasons in a row. Just it happened to backslash on Ukrainians the most. Now they're spinning it as literally holocaust.
Don't get me wrong, Stalin is a sociopath(ain't even Russian btw) for numerous of reasons, but that isn't one.
I love how you didn't address ANY of the other links.
Who have been marginalized, subdued or otherwise conquered over a period of how many years now?
I have a friend that told me once about how the Soviets made her grandfather watch as they tied his wife to two tanks and split her apart.
After they raped her.
I heard a story from a Estonian guy who had to serve in USSR military: they forced him to a old tractor on the shooting range and shoot the tractor with live ammo because he was Estonian. He survived...
(edit: true story, meet the guy in Finland, he played in a band that was important in the Estonian getting free from USSR 1990's.)
«There would be, by morning, guts strung along the fence and men with their throats slashed ragged and girl children carried off. Not here, not where it was being told, but always somewhere else. And the people would believe. They’d believe everything they heard.»
Simak was a wise, wise man.
Who did they genocide? I'm actually curious. You are referring to holodomor no doubt. An atrocity committed by the soviets led by a Georgian psychopath ( who also killed millions of other ethnicities including Russians, displaced others like Chechens etc.)
The soviets also cleansed Crimea of tartars and the koiningburg area of Germans. They had a hand in clearing land in many former Warsaw Pact states of their local population to import ethnic Russians.

We're past Yanukovych at this point, now you have armed separatists trying to dismantle the country's territorial integrity. If you'd like to see some hypocrisy though perhaps you'd like to visit Grozny, capital of Chechnya and see how Russia dealt with separatists there.
