A bit of foreshadowing for Mirror Mirror (possible Skin Game spoilers)

So, I was re-reading Skin Game and noticed this passage, from the dream sequence in which he contacts Molly. Apologies in advance if this has been brought up before.

It was one of those fever dreams, noisy and bright and disjointed. I don’t remember many of the details—just that I could never keep up with what was happening, and I felt as though as soon as my eyes would focus on something, everything would change, and as soon as I caught up to the action that was happening in the dream, it would roar off in a different direction, leaving me struggling to reorient myself, trying to keep up the pace with my feet dragging in the mud. The whole while, I was conscious of several other Harry Dresdens in the dream, all of them operating a little ways off from me, doing their own confusion dance in parallel to mine, and we occasionally paused to wave at one another and exchange polite complaints.

(Emphasis added, obviously.)

So, given what we know of Mirror Mirror so far, this seems like a bit of foreshadowing for it. No real plot impact, given that Dresdenverse Harry seems to think that the AlternaHarrys are just dream versions of himself, but it still caught my eye.

Keep in mind that Molly is known to protect herself mentally with duplication, confusion, and mirrored decoys. Harry was probably mainlining past her defenses out of habit or his soul touching hers at the end of ghost story gave them some sort of connection...

Yep, Peace Talks is next and after that Mirror Mirror.

I'm excited to get back to all the supernatural destruction again in Peace Talks and we'll maybe finally get to see Harry cut loose.

The thing I want to know most about Mirror Mirror, though, is what is Harry-prime going to do when evil Harry pulls him over into an alternate universe and his only refuge after escaping his doppelganger is alternate universe Mab, and probably Slate?

We're assuming the Mab in universe beta doesnt have her own problems with Dresden. We know evil Harry is staging his death with his little summoning trick, Perhaps he is doing so to get out from under her thumb. Hell, Our Harry has already tried it once!

For that matter, we're not even certain that it would be an AlternaMab. I mean, it calls into question all kinds of things about the war with the Outsiders if there are multiple realities in which the war could be won or lost. Does each universe fight the war separately? Or is each universe kind of like a battle in the much bigger war that spreads across the multiverse?

Personally, I think it'd be interesting to find that there's a character who's completely cognizant of the multiple versions of the universes (the Mothers? The Queens? The Gatekeeper?), and that's who Harry-prime has to turn to for help, perhaps even owing them a favor as a result.

God, I can already tell that this book is going to open up a TON of questions. I hope Jim's on his game with this, and that the beta readers and editors all have giant cups of coffee when it comes time for that.

At this point, I mostly chuckle at how much more attention people are giving Mirror Mirror than Peace Talks. 2 years is going to be a very long time!

A complete Intellectus would know, which to date only the Mothers have been revealed to be directly.

I don't think the Winter Mantle would translate as it would give an imbalance between the Courts. However Harry may by then have worn the Mantle long enough to be able to replicate its power set.

Harry is likely to face old enemies who have never dealt with this Harry in the same way. Lloyd Slate, Greville, Maeve, the Red Court and Bianca, Corpsetaker are all likely alive. So might Susan (massive guilt there) Lord Raith still controls the White Court.

Harry's allies may be very different, Thomas might be dead at his fathers hand, Murphy might still be with the police, Butters may be chief Medical Examiner (sans supermodel girlfriend, and being a real life Jedi), Michael may be dead, Molly a warlock, and Mouse may never have adopted Harry.

Marcone? Exactly the same.

The question is though can Harry soul gaze the likes of Marcone and Susan a second time? We may find out what Cowl was really up to at the Darkhallow if that universes Harry hadn't intervened . If alter Chicargo survived unscathed then you have to question whether Cowl stopped Greville and Corpstaker and avoided the loss of life somehow.

Sorry, newer to reddit. How do we know all this about Mirror Mirror? Do we know as much about Peace Talks?

In one of Jim's interviews shortly after (or was it before) Skin Game came out, he laid out the basic premise of the next two books in the series. He also mentioned them in his AMA here a while back.

Peace Talks, where several major players in the supernatural world (IE signers of the unseelie accords) meet up and have a peace summit in Chicago (at neutral ground, of course), with Harry tasked as security. Presumably its to deal with the Fomor problem, but that hasnt been actually specified yet to my knowledge.

And Mirror Mirror, where an evil alterna-Harry attempts to summon a duplicate of himself to fake his own death, and gets our Dresden instead. Hilarity ensues.

Zis is true, ya.

I sort of feel like alterna-Mab might be inclined to help Harry-prime at least make the jump back in the end. When Lily was in the statue in Summer Knight we learned the mantles were transmutable and could survive as a separate piece from the rest of Winter/Summer, so I think Harry would take his Mantle with him, but then It looks like it would just mesh with the aspect of Winter there, which is good for Harry in the short term of defending himself, but ultimately would only throw the balance out of whack. In both universes, actually
