Help finding a replacement bolt assembly for a Savage Mk II

Hey all, I have a bolt-less Mark II F (non-AccuTrigger, manufacturered 2/23/2003) I picked up for cheap that I'd like to turn into a functional plinker. To do that, I'll need a complete bolt assembly (part #12 in the schematic). Savage's webstore only seems to offer bolt assemblies for the AccuTrigger versions of the rifle. I've also searched through Numrich (I haven't tried calling them yet), Brownell's, Midway, eBay, some auction sites, and posted to ArmsList with no luck.

Also, one other note: I tried fitting a bolt from an AccuTrigger FV-SR and it did not fit, nor did I expect it to.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Isn't this a 130USD rifle?

Buy a whole used one.

Yes, and if I can find a bolt for it I'll have paid even less than that.

Not that much less, bolts are expensive and sellers have you by the balls if you need one.

keep trying ebay. you may get lucky, try local gun shops have parts from guns that had to be "destroyed" for this reason or that.

Thanks for the suggestion on LGS. I'll look around town. :)

I called Savage because my bolt (after 15000 rounds) on my pre-AccuTrigger MKII is ruined. They said I could send the entire receiver/barrel assembly to them and they would fit a new bolt to it for something like $100 plus S&H both ways.

Thanks for the info. That's quite steep, though. Yikes.

Keep checking the auction sites. Eventually one will show up. It may take a while.

Yeah there was one on eBay that expired a couple weeks before I started looking. Guy wanted ~$40. Oh well. Thanks of the advice.
