I met eYe Yamatsuka after a show in 2005. My friend happened to have purchased Zach's book earlier in the day and still had it with him. We showed the book to eYe and he was mesmerized by the art. We told him about Zach's genius and tried to give him the Holy Smokes CD that came with the book but he felt bad about taking it, so he declined. Three years later, Zach joined Boredoms.

What's the name of Zach's book?

Destroying Yourself is Too Accessible. It comes with an album by his band, Holy Smokes, which is called Masculine Drugs. I strongly suggest buying these as soon as possible.

I'm more a fan of their earlier more chaotic stuff. Chocolate Synthesizer is a lesson in anarchy.

How about Pop Tatari?

Pop Tatari is less refined imo but still greatness.

Wow. Chocolate Synthesizer is really great.

Yes! Boredoms! One of my favourite bands ever. It's cool that they recognize his drumming abilities.

Boredoms/Vooredoms are one of the best groups of all time.

Zach's first show with them was 88Boadrum on 08/08/08 at the La Brea Tar Pits. I was sitting directly behind him for the entire show. it was the closest I have ever come to what could be described as a "religious experience".

He did not play with them on 11/11/11. Hisham confirmed that he missed it. His final show with BORE was 02/27/11 in Tokyo.

Thank you for introducing me to a new band! I am seriously loving this, oh my god, fucking Japanese musicians are so crazy. Currently listening to Soul Discharge and I am love, already.

Nice to see Boredoms fans here. I was lucky enough to see several of their concerts: twice on their 2005 Vooredoms US tour, 77BOAdrum, 88BOAdrum, and their 2012 ATP performance. They're one of the few bands I'd travel really far to see.
There are some definite parallels between Boredoms and Death Grips too: both bands have constantly evolved throughout their existence, and nearly every record in their discography is different from the last. Also both eYe and Ride have such intense presences. When they walk by you're just in awe.
