[Meta] Art tag
We need an "art" tag now that people are posting art on here.

First off, that's not how you ask for things.
My fellow mods and I have been discussing what to do about tags for the last few days. So let me ask both you and anyone else who wishes to comment what would you like to see as far as tags are concerned?

i agree with the video tag. that one is never used.

ok, i dont know how else i would have asked about that other than with a meta post...
and i suppose it could fall under the miscellaneous tag. i just had that thought come through my head when someone put [Art] in one of their posts, so i felt like saying something.

Its not a problem. I was still waking up when I read your post and took it wrong. Are you referring to subtags, the ones in [], or the flair tags?
From my discussion with the other mods, an art post would be tagged with the OC flair and the subtag [Art]. Of course, this is fully optional at this point. It seems to be any tag apart from the OC flair is used to label your work as you choose it to be labelled. Be it [Art], [Fantasy], [Pancakes] etc.. We'll be making an official announcement on tags sometime in the near future. But discussion is important and thanks you for your thoughts.

ok. i was reffering to the flair tags. after we post we put on oc, misc, text, meta, etc... art is oc, but i feel oc is essentially reserved for stories. yet art can also fall under miscellaneous, so.
and i know it can be easily cluttered if we start adding stuff to break down genre, but i felt like posting art was kind of like posting text or video tags. i was just seeing alot more art being posted lately over the past month or two.

Well, we might even have to add a 'Poetry' and a 'Music' tag for completeness sake.

You have some good points, but I disagree. We do need an [Art] tag, just to differentiate these posts from the rest, especially if the fledgling boom of artistic submissions takes off, they will dominate the [Misc] tag and dilute its meaning into [Probably Art].
The [Misc] tag is there for miscellaneous entries which don't deserve their own tag due to low submission rate. Which at this point like u/j1xwnbsr has mentioned, [Text] could easily be folded back into the [Misc] category.
I do agree that tags for every variation in the minutia of a story's plotline would be too much.
