Here's what I love/hate so far
TL;DR: Game isn't perfect and has issues but is lot of fun. I love this game.
What bugs me:
-
Really really hate? How the loading screen on Xbone goes black and keeps loading for a lot longer but they remove the on screen cards. Hey you jerks, I was reading those! Oh and long loading screens but I understand loading full zones can get tricky.
-
How my ranged characters forget they are ranged characters while not in tactical mode. C'mon! This and the AI/difficulty doesn't scale with boss difficulty which leads to some frustration. It took me a while to figure I was being wiped by level 13 mobs in the fallow mire. O_O
-
Closing / Disrupting rifts while they are awkwardly high right over me. Poor design.
-
In about 20 odd hours, the game's crashed 3 times but every single time I didn't have to play more than a few minutes to get back on track (auto save is very good).
What irks me a little bit:
-
Not having healers. Still getting over this. 8 pots isn't enough for first time players.
-
Graphical glitches - not game-breaking but slightly detract from the enjoyment.
-
Not being able to remap controls. Who the hell thought of LS to gallop? Why not LT? Or let us configure the controls.
-
Doesn't irk me personally but the game is pretty brutal to new comers (including the lore, the background and the control system).
-
Having to drag myself back to the war council to do stuff on a table is a bit annoying.
What's cool:
-
Hats. Hats are cool. Very cool.
-
Lord Woolsley. He's super cool. Also very orange. Orange is cool.
-
Landscapes are super-mega-ultra-freaking awesome. I was slumming it out in Hinterlands complaining about how it's sunny and bright all the time till I switched zones.
-
Scout Harding. I love you.
-
Keeper Pentaghast is the bomb. Don't tell Scout Harding.
-
It's huge. The world and the regions are incredibly huge (not Skyrim huge but I wasn't expecting Skyrim or ES here). Also very very pretty.
-
Skyrim had it but allowing you to name your own creations. I christen my new greatsword Come with me now
-
Your own castle that develops over time. Ultra. Mega. Awesome.
-
The web-tool, the dragons keep thing, that thing is cool. Pretty nice.
I was playing DA:O in preparation for DA:I and there are elements from that game I miss sorely but in general I think Bioware has done a great job in DA:I. I accept your apology for DA:II Bioware.
