Bilal-lygagging my way to solving this case
I came across this conversation on Rabia's blog.
Rabia: Was there anybody else in the community who had a relationship with [Christina]? Who was she talking to about the case? Was she discussing with anyone if not you, not your husband, not me? She wasn’t discussing with me. Was there anybody that she was discussing the case with?
Adnan's mother Shamim: Bilal probably.
Rabia: Ok, so you said that she was talking to somebody named Bilal in the community. And who’s that?
Shamim: He was just a member of the community.
Rabia: [Garbled] Why was he involved with Christina?
Shamiim: Because we didn’t know that much about who to hire and who I should call so he said he knows Christina she’s a….
Rabia: He had recommended Christina?
Shamim: Yes.
Boom. That’s the sound of the missing puzzle piece falling into place.
Day of the murder: Bilal strangles Hae at the gas station, buys a Pop Tart for $1.71 using her credit card, stops by Lenscrafters to share the news with his secret lover Don.
Weeks later: Bilal places the Anonymous Call, watches in glee as the cops coerce Jay into fingering Adnan for the crime, suggests to Adnan’s parents that they hire Christina, and then either bribes Christina to throw the case or whispers sweet nothings in her ear about Adnan’s guilt.
Case closed. You're welcome.
SK is waiting for this week's episode for the big reveal: Bilal = the psychopath we've been looking for (who also enjoys a little pedophilia on the side).
