Anyone noticed a link between blood glucose levels and productivity?

Some days I'm productive, others not, I've started optimizing sleep and exercising, eating better, but the days I am and am not productive are still arbitrary.

Any personal data miners/diabetics out there noticed a link between blood glucose and productivity?

Is it worth starting measurements to help level out and optimize my levels to be more productive?

Fuck sugar! Go keto! Never be hungry or crash again!

Any time I eat a breakfast without some form of carbs I feel like shit later in the day. Do I just need to give it more time or what?

Yeah you go through the keto flu until your body becomes fat adapted; anywhere from 1-6 weeks but it's damn worth it.

Just had a cup of tomato soup and my day went from unable to concentrate to productive.

Huh, I'll have to try that. As INTPs, we love to find correlations between almost everything. My dad(ENTP(I think) and non diabetic) has noticed this trend, when he comes home without having eaten, he can be grumpy, but after dinner he sits down and finishes what ever he couldn't at work.

I might buy a blood glucose meter and start a chart, then i might be able to modify my diet to maximize productivity.

I didn't read the entire article, but this is a more interesting take on this post. I would be curious how blood glucose levels relate to self control with eating for those who are prone to over eating or who are overweight.

iirc their is a complete chapter dedicated to willpower(productivity?) and glucose level in Willpower Instinct by psychologist Kelly McGonigal

The gist of that chapter is that your blood glucose level doesn't matter nearly as much as whether or not your blood glucose level is rising or falling. Your body sees a falling blood glucose level as the empty light on your gas tank switching on; suddenly you go into conservation mode. If you keep it level then you don't experience this.

I think it's more complex than just carbs. Probably more nutritions are involved. Lack in vitamins, minerals, proteins, essential fatty acids, can probably all affect energy levels.

For me personally, I find that high glucose levels actually kill productivity. With high blood sugar levels your body wants to move, walk, lift weights .. if I don't do that then I feel like shit.

(btw, I'm assuming the energy levels meant in the question is the energy for mental concentration)

Protein is good for energy levels. I don't know why .. maybe my body has just started getting used to it, but if I don't have a good dosage of proteins I feel "meh".

Protein apparently plays a role I'm blood glucose levels, helping regulate glucose levels.

So maybe the key isn't high blood glucose levels, but consistent blood glucose levels.

Recently been to a doctor to get my vitamins checked, but I'm within normal limits.
