Theater Communities in Augusta

Anyone here do theater? I'm wondering what the communities are like. I know there's The Augusta Players and Chat Noir, any others? Auditions for A Christmas Carol indicated two of the leads were filled pre-audition: do they often have people in mind for roles beforehand, or hire "professionals" to fill leads like some community theaters?

My friends all do Augusta Players and Christmas Carol is something they do every year. Usually the roles for leads are picked because everyone knows who can do it. They're kind of Nazi's over there. Chat is good though.

You might also consider the Fort Gordon Dinner Theater or the Aiken Playhouse. I take it you're more performance oriented? Or do you enjoy doing the technical side as well?

I'm currently a volunteer tech at the ft Gordon dinner theatre. I only started a few weeks ago so I can't really tell you the methods of getting a role there though.
