Thank you for your overwhelming kindness, support, and advice. Gold stars, warm hugs, and a few appreciative tears for everyone.
Thank you all so much for the generosity you’ve shown myself, my baby, and my family.
I went to my parent’s house a few days ago and there was a large stack of brown boxes from Amazon next to the door. My mother was completely blown away. She kept saying she “couldn’t believe how kind strangers could be” every time I opened another box. Because of our financial situation, we will be moving in with my parents in the next two weeks for a short while so my mother can help with the newborn and me (high risk pregnancy, lots of issues with mobility, etc.) while we work to get back on our feet.
Her and I carried everything up to Sylvia’s future room, her nursery. I sat it all in there, a room that was otherwise empty. I sat down in the center of the room and just cried. I was grateful, hopeful, and feeling like things would turn around for the first time in a long time – and that’s something I can never say thank you enough for.
So many of you, both here in r/assistance and over in r/randomkindness, were generous that I’m going to forego naming you all individually here, but please know that I saved all the Amazon slips and have all your usernames written down in a note pad. When Sylvia comes into this world at the end of May, I promise to send you all an update. You can see the real life impact of such generosity – plus, a super cute baby to boot.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can’t say it enough. Thank you.

So happy that folks got together to help you and relieve your stress a little. Congrats on Sylvia and much luck to you.:)
And thank you for helping moderating such a wonderful sub. Not just the generosity, but the attitude here in general is hard-fought for on Reddit as a whole. Two gold stars for you.
