It's perfect. Don't listen to the few who will tell you how your need to of the line 15". I know people who program with 4 year old airs

I´ve got the MBP Retina 13" 8gb RAM. On mine, Xcode works fine. With the HDMI port you can easily connect it to a bigger screen.

My 2012 13" Air itself runs Xcode/photoshop flawlessly. The Pro should be even better.

That will be a great purchase for your needs. Next time this should probably be posted in the "what should I buy Wednesday" megathread, as per the new rules in the sidebar.

Power wise, it's fine. I'm still using a 13" 2011 at work and have zero issues (I do have an SSD and 16GB of RAM, which I would strongly recommend if you're doing much VM work). My only gripe is the screen size. It's perfectly fine for dev work outside of Xcode, but the screen is just too small to do anything storyboard related with efficiency. I have a 27" external monitor so it's no problem for me - however if I was stuck using only the laptop I'd probably spring for a 15".
