Any lifters in Virginia Beach?

Like the title says I am looking for lifters or a good gym that is near Virginia Beach. So far I have only found one gym that isn't a Crossfit gym but it's a 45 minute drive without traffic; that's not economically feasible for an every day thing. If anyone could help me I would be super appreciative of it. And just to reiterate, I've looked at the USAW website and found that even though there are a lot of clubs they won't let me do what I want because they're Crossfit gyms.

I'm not from VA beach but I've heard good things about Brute Strength gym. It has weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman equipment. It is in the Norfolk/ VA beach area.

I'd second Brute Strength.

It's mostly a strongman/powerlifting gym, but the have bumper plates and several platforms. I think they have a few regionally competitive lifters too.

I train there every time I visit Virginia Beach.

Unfortunately Brute Strength is the gym I'm talking about, you're right it is certainly what I need but I just can't justify a 1.5 hour round trip every day.

They do not have their own facility. Caine trains at Crossfit Callused in Chesapeake.

I'm interested as well. Husband is being stationed at Fort Eustis and I too don't see much of anything besides Crossfit gyms.

I believe Va Beach is the biggest city in Virginia, so I imagine the Crossfit gyms there to be plentiful and spacious. Have you tried contacting any of the owners to see if they'll let you do what you want to do?

I don't know if any weightlifting specific gyms. There are many crossfit hybrid types like brute (like someone said), Cain at callused, and his family owns crossfit Chesapeake. There's a new gym off of dam neck called iron asylum (look for it on Facebook). They're a locally owned gym, pretty new, 24hrs, and just an open gym to do whatever. They have bumper plates from what I know, but I've only seen pictures on fb.

****Also, I stumbled upon some volt romaleo 2's, size 10 for a steal but they're a half size too big. I thought I could make it work, but it doesn't haha. Willing to part with them for $140. I have Adipowers that fit perfectly, so I don't even really need the nikes. Just thought I'd put it out there since everyone here is local and I was trying to figure out a way to get rid of them to real weightlifters.

I literally bought them last night and did some split jerks with only the bar this morning (maybe 5 reps) and I wasn't pleased with the tiny bit of extra space. So they're perfect, I also have the training and competition soles that came with it
