Some friends and I recently put together a Roman city as part of a project to completely "romanise" Malta and Gozo

All our stuff is being built on a map made for us by another friend. You can find some pictures of his excellent world painting here : http://imgur.com/gallery/Imx2T/new.
I apologise for the poor quality and size of some of the photos, we're better at building than presenting it. We would run some renders for you but a lot of our stuff also uses a carpenter's block mod which would mess with those. I personally believe it looks a lot nicer in game than in these shots.
The texture pack is our own community's but is an evolved form of Stugace's Romecraft and "Origines" which takes some conquest blocks.
If you have any questions about the project, don't hesitate to ask!

Great build! What shader were you using?
some of the screenshots are with no shader, some with just optifine/mcpatcher and then a few with chocopics and then sonic ethers I think? Not sure, I have loads that I rotate through, and some of these were taken by the other builders and sent to me.
Wow it's been a while since I've heard Romecraft mentioned. I was on the Origines server dev team and I'm glad the texture pack isn't going to waste after the server shut down. Your cities look really great!
I remember you mr wagneren! This is Rad, Spear still plays on and off, Drak is back around, Leo and Finder are working on a build of Rome in its entirety, Ugly disappeared but likes to browse the website now and again and Rhald pops in here and there when he's not playing paradox games. I think that's most of the team covered.
What is hanging the sign in this picture? Iron bars?
we use meta textures which means we get a tonne of new block types to work with. Those chains are actually cobwebs, same with the ropes used at the docks, the animated smoke, etc.
