The Bass elbow is a good one because he threw his arm back just like JR did. Since Timo was right there he got him with the elbow. If he had been further back though Moz would've gotten the JR treatment. I doubt Moz would have gotten knocked out like glass jaw Crowder but whatever.

Also, Thomas gets away with more fouls than anyone I have ever seen. I think teams should go scout the smallest guys who can still actually play in the league and pick them up just to hand out cheap shots all game.

I don't mind hard/rough fouls (especially by accident/unintentional). What I hate is not apologizing/just walking away/taunting afterwards.

Soooooooo many headshots.

the amount of flagrants across the board that were/should have been called are incredible. This series went so far out of hand.

You can skip from 1:20-2:50 save a minute of your time its just the jerebko foul on irving. Most of these were either common fouls or no calls none of them I don't think were called as a flagrant. No audio couldn't get it to work files I were working with were mkv and it was a bitch to get to work.

The first play with kyrie turner pushes kyrie in the back while he is in the air. (no call)

Second play looks like Zeller pushes lebron in the back of the head with his elbow personal on Turner

third olynyk does the same thing to thompson that he did to love (no call)

fourth Jerebeko hits irving in the face and taunts after the play. (Tech on JR)

fifth mozgod elbowed in throat (no call)

sixth thomas pushes tt out of bounds I can't remember if there was a call or not. No call Celtics ball.

seventh jerebko drives his shoulder into Jones (personal)

eigth Thomas hits delly in the face on a shot attempt (personal)

The tech on JR is mindbogeling. He just pushed them off abd turned around. Not much more then what Crowder did.

It's like they had to call something cause they took the time and called it against the Cavs cause.. refs need to keep the game "interesting" lol. No blowouts in the playoffs. :/

3
DICKVERSACE•

These fuckhead refs get really drunk before the games... thats why I've heard from an inside ' broussard' source ... how the fuck can they objectively call the games?

3
legendcat•

How can Celtics fans not think that the Olynyk shit is intentional. After Jerebko took out Kyrie stared him down, shoulder tackled JJ hows he not fined? How the hell is Bass elbowing TT in the throat not as bad as JR they were both intentional you don't just throw your elbow back not trying to hurt someone. How did Turner slapping LeBron on the head not get anything. NBA refs suck so much dick it ain't funny. I hate the Celtics players, organization, fans (for the most part) and them thinking we are dirty is a joke.

Alright I'm done. Let's go win a championship without Love and prove everyone wrong.

if everyone writes a letter to the commish about the officiating maybe they will look into it... LOL

Title should be renamed "Made a video to show just how bad reffing was. Against the Cavs."

The incessant complaining about the officiating is really tiresome.

What is your theory here? That the officials were pro-Celtics? In that case, why did we sweep them?

Why is this true?

Your starting assumption that both teams actually foul an equal amount on a game-to-game basis is flawed.

11
kcarter80•

Fair point. Shall I take a look at the season long foul totals for both teams? I suspect there isn't a significant difference, although I do vaguely remember reading something about the Cavs being tops in the league in fewest fouls per game.

The playoffs are physical. This kind of rough/dirty play by the underdog is the norm, not the exception. What happened to Love is incredibly unfortunate, but vilifying the refs and Olynyk seems misplaced.

Kevin love did this this moments before the injury. Now, I'll immediately concede this isn't as egregious a violation as Olynyk's, but the reason I point it out is that arm locks are a big part of the game. What happened seconds later was just an arm lock gone a bit further and a disaster happened.

Interlocking someone's arm AND yanking it is different from just interlocking it. Since you like statistics so much, maybe you can point me to the number of times someone gets their shoulder dislocated during a rebounding effort. If it's such a normal play, it clearly must have happened before. You should be able to find (41 x 30 x 75 x 20 x 0.005 = 9225) examples in the last 20 years assuming even 0.5% of the rebounding plays involve interlocking and yanking. One could just as easily say "what JR did was just a spacing effort gone further." The gone further part is what makes it egregious. If they want to take things further, they should pay for the consequences. And no, I've watched enough playoff games and rarely have I seen them get this physical. I can point to lots of examples too. Was this a non-foul as well? https://vine.co/v/eW6pV71J62W

Put yourself in the players' shoes. The other team is starting to flagrantly foul you and the refs are looking the other way for a lot of them. How would you respond? Would you let it happen and maybe let yourself get hurt or try to respond in a similar fashion so the other team thinks twice before doing it again. Not saying either practice is correct, but it's an interesting problem. The line between sending a message and tomfoolery can be thin.

kcarter80•

I think you've keyed in on our disagreement.

I think what Olynyk did happens from time to time. I'm not quite sure how often. If someone put a gun to my head I'd say once or twice a game or so.

On the vine: yes that's a personal foul. It's not flagrant.

-1
JacarSwe•

Yea and Love released him and didnt hold on for his dear life, THATS THE DIFFERENCE. Everyone claiming that Olynyks move is part of the game dont understand that the lockup isnt the bad part, the bad part is that he does not let Love slide out of it. Players always releases thier hold or atleast goes in the same direction as the player if they start to move in a different direction. If this happend all the time it sure would be more injuries.

kcarter80•

Sorry, I just disagree. I think similar plays happen a few times in every game.

Not saying they were pro anyone. They were incompetent at best. They review a play on kyrie, because his forarm hits Thomas in the head. Yet didn't do the same when Delly got hit in the face a few minutes later. Almost all of the plays in that video could have been called as flagrant 1 none of them were. And the JR tech was ridiculous. I originally made the video, because of a comment I made about how the Celtics were playing rough all series and it'll get looked over for the stupid foul by JR.

7
kcarter80•

So what's your point? It's clear there was not a pro-Celtics agenda.

The series had 12 different officials. They are all pros and tried their best. If you analyze every moment, as the NBA does, you'll find inconsistencies all over the place. That's the nature of officiating.

The best you can hope for is to get a slight advantage from it, which the Cavs did.

-9
helpwanted1OP•

My point is that when the JR and Perkins fouls happened everyone was talking about how dirty of a team the Cavs are. I guess I'm pointing out that it took 4 games of the refs not controlling the game for shit to boil over. And even after the JR foul happened they still let Jerebko and Thomas get away with the fouls towards the end of game 4 the hit and shoulder check. That's not inconsistent that's incompetence. I understand that human error comes with the game. But the league didn't even do shit about it either until after tempers already blew up.

4
kcarter80•

Who is everyone in your last? Certainly no one in the media or on this sub.

What do you propose the league should have done after game 3? Kevin Love got injured in the 6th minute of game 4, and things were not yet chippy at that point.

What they should have done is thrown Perkins out. If they'd done that, perhaps JR wouldn't have overreacted. But that doesn't feel like what you are arguing here.

The playoffs are more physical. It's not unusual or outrageous for the underdog to attempt to get under the favorite's skin with more physical play.

kmillz1•

What idiotic questions. You must be a simpleton if you think officiating is the only thing that determines who wins the games. The whole point of all of this is that the refs were completely fucking blind to half of the non-basketball hard physical plays that went on and the ones they did see they did virtually nothing about. This results in the unnecessary hard fouls continuing and (surprise) multiple players got injured. This doesn't mean either team got away with more than the other, it just means that the officials enabled unnecessary contact repeatedly and it got out of control.

7
JacarSwe•

You are really stupid if you think this post was about foul call not going in the Cavs favor when its clearly about how the reffs had no controll of the physical level of the game. There are probably a few hard Cavs foul that also got unnoticed.

I think you could've stopped after four words lol.
