Newbie LP-related question

Hi guys! I've had a non-LP Reo Grand for a while now (I LOVE IT!) and decided to pull the trigger on an LP (to be coupled with a bf Odin). I was just wondering if I will need to use the small black o-ring that usually goes under the RM2 on the LP with the Odin or any other bf RDA, or if the LP somehow eliminates the need for that gasket. Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this is a stupid question!

Not a stupid question bro....I have the same set up with no o-ring and it works perfectly.

The o-ring was originally intended to keep you from accidentally crushing the gasket in the 510 connector. That's no longer a concern with the new adjustable 510 connector. The other benefit of the o-ring is to allow you to adjust the airhole positions while keeping the atty from wobbling. That's also no longer a problem with the adjustable 510, since you can adjust the pin up or down as needed based on where you want the airhole to land. I'd probably personally still use the o-ring, just because I feel like it would be easier for adjustment than manipulating the pin, but that's just me. I'd suggest trying it both ways and decide which you prefer.

You have both made me feel insanely stupid and insanely happy. I didn't realize the connector was now adjustable! I got an Odin for my SL LP and when it didn't fire, I just sighed and put it aside. I can now go use my Odin!

I don't have a new Reo (I'm still chugging along with my vintage 2011 Grand), but from what I've seen they can be fiddly to adjust. u/super_X_drifter did a video on it a while back, which you should be able to find on his youtube channel.

It's not necessary, but I still use an o-ring with my LP Mini 2.1. It spreads to fill the gap between the walls of the catch cup and the bottom of my Chalice so it keeps dirt and funk out of the works.

You don't need the oring anymore. I use a very thin under the atty base just to keep the juice seal intact. Hate removing an RDA and seeing juice in the catch cup.
