Reading the transmission for the Anakin Skywalker Fan's Choice, it appears that this is in fact a marathon set. Just a heads up for anyone who might not have followed it too closely.
"This is the 10th Fan's Choice Insert released, so coming up next Wednesday is the first Fan's Choice Award Card! To complete your set, have all 10 current Fan's Choice Inserts by 3PM on Wednesday, May 27 and the Award Card will be yours."

Woo. First marathon set. This news brings me joy.
Glad I decided to start gathering them when we thought it wasn't a marathon. Was able to pick up the missing cards without trading too much. It's my only marathon set.
It's a smart move. This is a marathon everyone can keep up with.
I might be in the minority, but for some odd reason, I always thought there was an award to these. Maybe because it was just the Wednesday card to grab besides DPI sets.
Bought 10 Mace packs before landing Anakin. I also pulled SIX R5-D4s!!
Anyone with extras of Chewbacca and Ackbar want to trade for these two new ones, R5D4 and Anakin?
Been collecting these all along, so amusing to see people in the fan feed offering actual inserts for these. I think I got all mine as sweeteners or for a couple dupe yellows.
Ackbar seems to have the highest demand, not surprising.
Lol, I always get FC in the first two packs. xD I get pack luck in this, but not in actual inserts...

Since the start, I've played with the assumption that every set might an award announced at any point. Pretty sure Topps stated at one point that we won't always know.
What makes it a marathon? I thought those were 3 sets of 10 weeks of inserts with an award for each set and an award for completely everything.
This is so far just a 10 week thing that they decided to do, possibly after the fact, or to make demand for FC inserts to go up?
I think this one will actually go on past 30 weeks with an award every 10 weeks
I guess I made an assumption based off the language regarding the award being identical to the other marathons. As you correctly point out, there's no indication that it's a true marathon. Sorry about the confusion!
Now if they would just get them somewhat together, they are all over the damn place!!!!! Kills my OCD, Chewbacca is a lost soul, they are all over the darn place!

It's kinda silly for any sets not to have award cards. It probably takes 10 minutes to slap an image together and program it in. My commeratives should have gotten one.
Well my plan to turn 13 Rebo FC into a full set for fun looks to just have gone down the tubes. Started a few days ago and was only lacking Ackbar and Chewie before the announcement. If anyone has dupes of those two and not asking two arms and a leg, let me know.

The only live sets without announced awards are Firebrand, Mint, Bespin, and Classic Art.
What are the odds that those all get awards as well? I think it's pretty high.
I would venture that they will. Bespin better, since it's the new locations and that was the original crazy award structure set!
We got halfway through Rebels before they mentioned an award, and I think Shred might have been the first and only time they were totally up front about an award and what it was with the first drop.
They're usually up front with the awards in Bunt/Kick/Huddle, and almost all the chase sets there have awards, so I'd be surprised if they significantly stray from that model.
They did announce an award for Mint, it's in the last transmission. Details coming soon. It's the only reason I decided to start the silver Mint set.
The award for Mint is the Vader seen on the pack in the Cantina...that's the way it has been with all the other sets
