I just bought a liter of 190 proof Everclear in Wisconsin for $20.00... Probably not helpful unless you are in the Midwest....

What are you washing? You know all these solvents evaporate nevertheless right? So be it methanol or isopropanol, it doesn't matter since you wont ingest any of it

Washing blow

Use anhydrous acetone

Would that work? Site seems shady. Only sells two products.

That seems sooo sketchy. Don't "blow it". They're literally advertising that their product is for coke.

What exactly is wrong with an acetone or ISO extraction?

I think "don't blow it" refers to butane hash oil extraction where you blow butane through the weed

So you use this instead of butane?

1

Yes. It's considered to be a cleaner solvent.

It depends on how exactly the ethanol is denatured. If it's something volatile like methanol added you can get it off. If it's a bitterant then expect it to end up in the product. Why not try acetone? Probably cheaper to get reagent acetone than reagent grade ethanol. I don't do coke so I don't know the reasons for using one over the other in this case. If you're set on doing ethanol you can consider a home distillation. Maybe distill and buy some dessicant like magnesium sulfate anhydrous to remove extra water.

Just from my research there's types of stuff I want out are better done with the ethanol. Most started with acetone but I see currently easier ethanol washes that people are doing.

I'll have to maybe look up distilling process. Does that basically take the water out of the alcohol so it changes from 151 proof to 190?

Sort of. Distilling would be better described as taking the alcohol out of the water. Essentially boil out some of the alcohol and leave the water behind. Collect the alcohol separately and use. If done properly you can get pure ethanol, but it's hard to keep that way so it drops down to 90% after time. Distillation can be dangerous so make sure not to do it enclosed and avoid open flames.

the liquor store. Look for Everclear or some other brand of grain alcohol. all are 90%+

2

Not in my state unfortunately

California doesn't have liquor stores? How is this possible?

3
rmbrworstbehaviorOP•

They don't have 190 proof spirits, only 151

Bummer, u can probably order online
