Gone

One by one they disappeared-
some said goodbye, some just left.
Some departed with smiles and promises to come back-
others I knew were on their own track.
Some I still miss, some cross my mind-
some I’m happy they left me behind.
Some I still see, some are gone for good-
some would choose to come back if they could.
Some I still love, but be that as it may-
they all are still gone at the end of the day.
