Beginner question about conflicting calorie calculators (x-posted on /r xxfitness)

Hi! I'm a beginner, starting the SC bodyweight workout today. Read the entire SC book last night and I've been reading and watching everything I can get my hands on over the past few weeks. BioLayne's videos are fascinating!

I did the calorie calculations from the SC book and I got a 1509 kcal BMR. What I get from what I've read is that I'm not supposed to go under this amount of calories. There's also the easy method in the book, where you multiply your bodyweight by 14 for maintenance or 11 for weight loss. I get 1760 for weight loss. I'm 5'2" and these numbers are a lot of calories for me, an alarming amount of calories for trying to lose weight.

Before I got the book, I tried the IIFYM.com calculators. There, I got (on sedentary) a 1421 BMR and a TDEE of 1705. I subtracted 20% from my TDEE and got 1364. This sounds more reasonable to me. The FAQ says that you basically play with it and figure out what's right for you. Does anyone have any tips for this? Thanks for any help, I'm really excited, just confused.

tl;dr: 5'2", 160 lbs, 1760 calories too high? 1364 too low?
