GalNet post about rescuing slaves.
Hi IHC. I like what you all are going here and thought I'd put together a post on the GalNet thread to see if it gets picked up. Here's what I put together:
Date: At soonest convenience. Title: Rescued from the Kumo Crew! Author: CMDR Quade Context: Ongoing disputes in Pegasi Sector, specifically the nature of marked slaves and their relationship to Imperial slaves Helpful Links: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImperialHighCommand/comments/3gimau/dont_forget_to_save_the_marked_slaves_from_your/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ImperialHighCommand/comments/3goqwn/example_of_how_to_rescue_marked_slaves_from_kumo/ https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteAntal/comments/3gcdrm/undermining_archon_in_vulture/ Text:
Reports are coming in from throughout the Pegasi sector of scores of marked slaves being rescued by Imperial Commanders participating in the United Offensive. Acting in concert with members of Sirius Corporation, Imperial Commanders are carefully extracting human trafficking cargo from Kumo Crew vessels. That cargo is then being delivered to Sirius Corp. Commanders who fly them to safety for relocation. Unconfirmed rumors indicate that members of the Utopians are also joining the rescue and relocation efforts.
Spokesmen for the Kumo Crew vehemently deny that Marked Slaves are anything but common criminals and degenerates but one prominent case is making the rounds on media circuits. Known only by her first name for her own protection, Imperial Slave Aasha has become the face of the United Offensive. "Imagine my surprise when I woke up from stasis in Comanga surrounded by pirates!" Aasha originally entered a 2 year Imperial Slavery contract as part of the Quivira settlement with Silver Universal PLC. "I thought it was the right thing to do," states Aasha, "I was a trained mechanical engineer and could fetch a shorter term than any anyone else in my family. Just before putting me back in stasis for transport to Harma, the priates said that's what made me so valuable."
The Imperial Slavers Associated reiterated their previously stated opposition to transporting any slaves outside the Empire. They added that any Imperial Slave rescued from the Kumo Crew or any other violation of their Terms of Service Agreement would result in that slave's contract being rendered null and void.
"I don't know the Commander that saved me," a tearful Aasha explained, "but I am so thankful to him or her and the friendly folks at Sirius who helped me get to the relocation authority on Munshin.
