How to deal with repeated crossups as Talos?

So, I'm totally stumped as to what the hell I'm supposed to do about opposing players repeatedly jumping over my head and mixing up aerials and sweeps. Crow, in particular, seems impossible for me to AA with s2 or jumping grab before his aerials come out, and he seems to get insane conversions off of all his mixup options. Everything I do seems to either come out too slow, or hit in the wrong direction, or both - even though I know exactly where he's going.

I feel like I have to be missing something -- I feel I can tell when I'm being straight up outplayed, and this seems like a gimmick to which I just don't have the answer. Do I need to switch s1 to v2 and just always try to stick him on landing? Is there some other answer?

Thanks a ton in advance.

really all you can do is see it comin and use boot

thing is if they hit u from behind that goes trough boot armor so u really just need to time it really well

also depending on character you can just use his new grab (has armor from all sides) to hit them just as soon as they land but thats hard bro

Unfortunately, as with many grappler archetypes, that is Talos' reward for "getting in". Crow is unfortunate in having no good wake-up options, aside from Super. You could attempt a tech roll or a quick rise, to throw off Talos' timing, or choose Kinetic Defend -- after getting ripped up by rushdown Edges, I typically choose KD in my first match, and then choose KA/KD accordingly in subsequent matches.

I'm the Talos. Others are crossing me up -- Crow just seems the worst offender so far, but he's hardly the only one that's giving me trouble by doing this.

Its hard. Back jump air throw CAN help but it's not reliable. back jump H or try using S1v2 when he tries to crossup or if available super. Try watching my videos I do at a few times. Especially in the recent ones. https://www.reddit.com/r/risingthunder/comments/3femw1/talos_my_rising_thunder_matches/ www.youtube.com/user/mineral4r7s

this is the solution right here. if u get knocked down youll have to block the first mixup. if u do and expect another cross up i find upback mp works the best. do the mp immediately on jump since he has to wait until his way down before he can do the overhead or he'll whiff. upback mp is fairly safe unless he doesmeaty s2. other tham that he gets a jumping hp at best and youre back in neutral

save your airthrows for those high flying vlad shenanigans

I'll try that.

Oh, AS Talos ... block properly. Aside from that, you'll often need to guess right, or use f+H on Crow's landing. I've eaten a bunch of those when I attempt empty jump sweep. Also been command grabbed on empty jumps. They're 50/50s, unfortunately, which is normal for fighting games -- reward for scoring a knockdown. I've also seen f+H KA backdash to make the wake-up option safe.

It can be difficult at times but you just have to block. Recently though I've been using a kind of weird way to get out of the pressure if I absolutely know they will try to cross me up on wake up, I spartan rush away as soon as I wake up and its pretty much a reset to neutral.

I quite often find trying to jump and spartan rush can help. More often than not, it misses and you go flying away and create some needed space.

But yeah just work on your block game. For me, blocking crossups is something that I've never been especially good at, but when I'm well rested and focused I've had my moments. Most obvious thing to do is to standing block the crossup, and then immediately go into crouching block for the follow up. This works well enough. You can worry about overheads later on but having this down is the important part.

grab your ankles because once your armored command throw is on cooldown they are gonna go ham on your booty.

Everyone says block, but some crossups are really ambigious in this game. If you think you have the read on him, go for the wakeup airthrow and snag that mofo.

I know for a fact that if crow gets a knockdown from core puncture, and goes for a fireball, you can quick rise and AA throw him before he makes it over.

If he doesn't do the fireball it's much easier to just block or blow him up with kick.

You got an air grab, an anti-air grab, boot works if you guess what side they come down on, and command grab works as an anti air as well.
