How much did you 'lose' in the last few days?
just for fun and to settle the nerves of the newer members. Posting your portfolio value is optional. I 'lost' $13k over this week alone.

I think I was down $30+k at the end of yesterday, from the high point whenever that was. Not sure. CAD decline has helped offset the losses, or took my NW higher before the fall I guess.
Sucks, but what can you do (sold a single stock and topped up emerging, plus swapped some VCN for ZDV, plus bought some XIC for our joint Smith Manoeuvre acct).

Zero. I didn't sell anything. You haven't lost a penny until you sell for less than you paid.

I think I lost a few hundred to a thousand. im still above book value in all funds except the one that tanked with oil awhile back. Playing the long game!

By sheer fluke, I sold every position in one of my accounts and had it in cash from early August onwards, and then rebought over this weekend. So I inadvertently avoided any losses, paper or otherwise, related to this specific downturn.
lucky! so you're well repositioned from this. What made you clear out your accounts recently?
Moving an old pro account (restricted trading) to a regular self-directed account (and it took forever because the institution, TDI in this case, fucked up a portion of the transfer). (I won't pursue anything with them because it magically worked in my favour)
