Just left an interview and they told me there'd be a drug test. I'm not worried, though.
I know a lot about drugs, so it should be a pretty easy test.

I got an interview Thursday though I was told the job is mine already. Pretty pumped to test clean, haven't smoked in almost 3 months for this job. After everything comes back, I can get back to what I love.

I took 28 days(to play it really safe) off before my drug screen and even bought a store drug test. Had almost zero tolerance the afternoon after my test and it was kind of cool! Best of luck with your T break and job!!

That's the point actually, they want to see that you are capable of staying off drugs for long enough to pass the test.

I disagree - I think there is some utility in the fact that someone is "responsible" enough to quit doing what they're doing and get done what's suppose to get done, that they value the work over their substance. Of course, their aim is to "find a non-drug user" for the job, but there appears to be this secondary motive in my opinion.

nice username - get a job in the weed industry and skip the bs (though you'll see its still bs, read below). Also, seems like all the good jobs worth having don't require a drug test BUT require some serious skills or at least a college degree and strongly relevant job experience.
Though, at the end of the day if you look at people as a species - a good majority of ppl at some point choose to roll out their own business for a better chance at proper compensation. Many MANY fail, but at the end of the day, it's not me, it's you whose playing this game of 'can't smoke weed for fear of failing a drug test'...you really want that sales gig THAT bad? you really want that data entry gig THAT bad? More power to you.
(You can pass if you give them this anyway, so you're the one who is ultimately suffering for nothing)

I feel you and was there twice during this involuntary break. The first three weeks were hell mentally. Night terrors and my chronic migraines got extremely aggressive. After that it is more or less just like an "oh well, wish I could" and nothing more. Definitely miss it.

What kind of job requires you to take a drug test? Unless you want to become a cop or a truck driver or other possibly dangerous jobs.

Congrats man! I was in the same boat, but they never screened me (I think they were supposed to) and now I'm just trying to figure out if they do random tests or what. I was thinking about going to HR and asking them if I need to be tested just to get it out of the way and use that to try and figure out about random tests. I've been clean for only 2 months though lol

Yeah I will be careful with my wording. I also saw someone in this thread mention that I could ask about it to see if my SSRI prescription could interfere with a delayed screening or possible random test. Stay safe frent!

I'm so glad this is illegal in germany. It is a very private part of your life. If you take drugs and nobody notices (although I wouldn't do this), they shouldn't fire you over it.

local smoke shop (cigarettes and pipes) sold me a $40 kit of synthetic pee with a belt two hand warmers, thermometer tube and valves. Easy as shit

Absolutely not. Any time I've had one you have to empty your pockets. The best way to do it is tape the condom full of clean pee to your inner thigh with the condom inbetween your leg and hand warmer.

Yeah, mine had a thermometer on the side of the cup and if it was out of the correct temp it would be an invalid result.

I loved when I was trucking and I got a random test with the rookies. I would tell this to them in front of the safety instructor and watch them panic as they pretended they never did drugs.

You can't
Ask what drugs that they test for because you have a prescription and you don't want it to interfere with your job opportunity
You could possibly say that you take something like an SSRI (it is for several psychological ailments including depression, OCD, anxiety, etc.). This is because SSRI's (at least the one I take which is setraline, otherwise known as Zoloft) can often turn up as a false positive for benzo's (Xanax, Ativan, etc.) which you do need a prescription for.
They can't really test for SSRI's (not economically practical), although they could ask to see the prescription, unless you pull some patient confidentiality shit out of your ass...except you already told them so...lol.

What I did is when I got my pre employment forms, it had the number of the place where I was to be tested at. I called them and asked what they screen for. Another way is to ask for the employee health book/code and it will say it in there as well, at least from personal experience and what friends have told me.
