Adderall is turning my friends into jerks.

I have a group of amazing friends who are really awesome. They're caring, concsious of others, always a blast to be around, and no matter how crazy they get, they always maintain their personality.

In April of this year, Adderall came into our lives. I tried it a couple of times, and it wasn't my thing. It made me spacey and I didn't enjoy the feeling. No big loss, there are other drugs to do . . . and I dont "need" to be blitzed all the time anyway.

Fast forward to now, and I've noticed that my friends are CONSTANTLY popping adderrall. They have a constant supply from a friend with 3 scripts for it.

I've known these guys for 5 years, but the last time I saw them, I hardly even recognized them. They were acting selfish, talked constantly without letting others speak, acted crazy in ways that were not FUN crazy . . . example . . . one of them had drugs on him and started screaming at the cops and told me to take pictures of it. Are you kidding me? Why would you think that's a good idea? It was the first time in my life I had to leave their company and drive home in the middle of festivities.

Anyway, there's no point to this story . . . I just dont get why people like this drug. It's the only new substance in our arsenal over the past 5 years instead of the usual suspects (MDMA, cocaine, weed, script opiates, booze), and I've seen a huge shift since they've been popping addy like candy. Even at their most coked out . . . boozed up . . . whatever type self . . they've never been selfish and rude like this.

It's a bummer.

So far I'm not a fan of this drug and how it affects people, and I usually do not judge other people's choices in drugs.

Have you talked to them about it?

Yes. They seem to think they don't have a problem.

As a person with a past of abusing Adderall, you begin very irritable and self-centered after a certain point. I had a script for 2x 20mg/day and I would finish the script 2 weeks early the majority of the time and end up angry and annoyed as fuck. A lot of this is caused by lack of sleep and withdrawals. I don't know how to explain your friend yelling at the cops. I would blame that on him being an idiot rather than the Adderall.

He was drunk as well, but he's been drunk before and never acted that completely stupid.

Their eyes look vacant. They don't even act like themselves. It's like they look past me. They take no interest in what I say only what they say.

He said he had "Been up for 3 days and I'm a little delirious."

No you're addicted to legal meth, that's my opinion

That's rough man. I was never bad enough that it kept me up for multiple days on end. I just abused them during the day for school. I'd try to sit down and talk to them about it. If they tell you to fuck off, go your separate ways. These are toxic relationships and you need to look out what's best for you.

I'm gonna lay off for a while and then come back to it. Maybe it's a phase . . . if I think it isn't I'll talk to them about it and see how it goes.

Ultimately it's their life and their choices, but I want to at least make an effort to help them if they need it.

Appreciate your input and sharing your experiences man. Thanks so much.

I know it sucks to see people you know and love change, but you can't blame an inanimate substance for the actions of others. They choose to take the drug, the drug doesn't choose to take them. It is a helpful tool for a lot of people, and if some can't handle the effects or moderate themselves, that's on them.

True

It's how long they've been using the drug, probably. Prob not taking all precautions you should be when using adderall. can't really blame the drug itself.

They have addictive personalities, but they've been good for about 7 years. However, at one point they had a bad meth addiction. Sometimes I wonder if they're using addy as a replacement addiction ..... or maybe they're back on meth.
